MICRONEEDLING
Microneedling naturally stimulates the body’s self-repair process to renew skin appearance and improve skin texture while correcting a variety of skin concerns. It stimulates the skin’s natural healing response without causing unnecessary and excessive damage such as laser treatments and chemical peels.
Microneedling (also known as collagen induction therapy) involves using fine needles to create hundreds of tiny, invisible puncture wounds in the top layer of skin.
This minimally invasive treatment is virtually painless and incredibly effective. The micro-injuries you create stimulates the body’s natural wound healing processes, resulting in cell turnover and increased collagen and elastin production, therefore reversing as well as preventing signs of aging.
How microneedling helps aging skin
The primary appeal of Microneedling is its ability to stimulate growth of collagen and elastin, which is the key to new, youthful-looking skin. With its ability to trigger the generation of new skin cells, just a few sessions of Microneedling will noticeably reduce fine lines, crow’s feet, and deep wrinkles on the forehead. Microneedling utilizes the body’s own natural healing mechanisms, so the results are very natural and there’s minimal downtime with it.
Once again, collagen is arguably the most vital way to improve the look of skin, and this goes far beyond reducing wrinkles. By stimulating collagen growth with Microneedling, you can also reverse sun damage and discoloration, including the hyperpigmentation that comes with melasma. On top of Microneedling’s ability to smooth and correct damaged skin, it also has the added bonus of tightening loose skin, which makes it great for older men and women.
Microneedling is an excellent treatment for fine lines and wrinkles. It is a treatment which resurfaces the skin without laser or surgery and minimal downtime.
Microneedling is a procedure which involves using fine needles to create hundreds of tiny invisible puncture wounds in the top layer of the skin. These tiny puncture wounds trigger the body’s natural healing response to heal these holes, in turn naturally producing collagen and elastin to tighten and improve the skins texture.

Some of the known benefits of Microneedling include: greatly improves topical cream effectiveness and penetration, stimulates blood circulation and collagen production, needles are non-allergenic, cost effective compared to other resurfacing procedures, works on all skin types, and can treat the scalp, face, and body, including skin around the eyes, mouth and neck.
It begins with cleaning and numbing the skin. A collagen-stimulating product, Vitamin C serum, and/or skin lightener is also used. A small pen with 12 tiny needles is used to create tiny wounds in the skin. The speed and adjustability of the needles allows for more effective piercing and absorption of skin products. Vitamin-C serum or Hyaluronic acid are used after the procedure to hydrate, heal and protect the skin.
Depending on the depth of the treatment, numbing creams can be used to provide patient comfort. The applicator can also be set to a pre-determined length, but this will depend on your skin condition. Patients undergoing treatments with shorter needle will feel a slight tickling sensation, but for those who need more depth, numbing creams can be applied.
Microneedling is safe to use on all skin types and colors without risk of post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation.
Expect redness on the treated area the following day after your treatment. We advise arranging two days of downtime. Stay out of the sun. The redness often subsides within 48 hours.
Each person’s skin condition vary, requiring different levels of treatment. People with fine lines and mild wrinkles may notice improvement after only one treatment. Those with deep acne scarring, deep wrinkles and severe hyperpigmentation may need more than one session. The number of treatment sessions needed will be determined during the consultation.
