CELLULITE TREATMENT

CELLULITE TREATMENT

Cellulite, also known as adiposis edematosa (dermatology) is commonly known to many of us as “orange peel” or “cottage cheese” skin, because of its lumpy and dimpled appearance. It is a very common skin condition that occurs in mostly post-pubertal women, due to an imbalance between the formation and elimination of fat in the body. It usually appears first in the thigh and buttock areas and can be found on lower legs and backs of the arms as well.

Cellulite treatment technology melts fat cells under the skin’s surface, while promoting regeneration of blood vessels, collagen and elastin fibers. This process creates more skin support and reduces the appearance of dimples in a number of parts of the body.

Cause of Cellulite

The appearance of cellulite can greatly affect a person’s confidence and wardrobe, making them self-conscious in swimsuits and shorts, or when they are undressed. Cellulite treatment is one of the most commonly performed procedures.

There are multiple theories regarding the cause and origin of cellulite and some of the most common beliefs are that its formation may be influenced by factors such as heredity, physical activity, nutrition, stress, and lifestyle. The presence of cellulite on the body is largely influenced by the amount of body fat a person has and the nature of their supporting fibrous septae. Women tend to have more body fat (27%) than men (15%) of proportional body fitness. Much of gender specific fat deposition is based upon the hormonal receptor site density, and sensitivity in various body areas.

Unfortunately, no amount of eating well and regular exercise can prevent the development of cellulite in those who are predisposed to it. The collections of fat deposits are positioned in various layers of tissue, and the thick adipose fat is not responsive to regular fat-burning activity.

You may have Cellulite if you have noticed an “orange peel” or “dimpling” appearance on your legs, if you have impaired circulation, spider veins and bruising, localized fat deposits, heavy legs, and skin contour irregularities such as rippling.

How Cellulite treatment works

At Dermedix Clinic, we use patented technology that combines multi-polar radio frequency and pulsed electromagnetic fields to produce an effective, non-invasive, safe therapeutic dense heat matrix. One that penetrates several layers of the skin, heating uniformly from the inside out.

By increasing the core temperature of the tissue, the hormone activity is boosted; fatty cells are broken down and fatty acids are released from the fat cells. Blood circulation is improved, delivering vitamins and minerals efficiently to cells while waste materials are eliminated.

Safe. Pain Free. Hair Free.

No, actually your Cellulite treatment will be quite relaxing. Most patients only feel a warm, pulsing massage during their sessions, describing the treatment like a hot stone massage.
The duration of your Cellulite treatment will depend on the surface area to be treated. Facial treatments can last up to 20 minutes. While a larger treatment area can be 30 minutes or more.
Some patients see results after their first Cellulite treatment. However, everybody type reacts differently. Certain factors play a part in how soon you’ll see results. Lifestyle, gender, age, fat to muscle ratio and eating habits, all play a role in how soon you will see results.

The number of Cellulite treatment sessions needed to achieve optimal results often depends on the area to be treated.

For the face, a minimum of six treatments spaced at weekly intervals is usually advised. For the neck and the body, about eight treatments are performed weekly.
After completing the series, you can maintain the results by getting a treatment four times a year.

Before each Cellulite treatment, drink lots of fluids to stay hydrated. By having adequate hydration, Cellulite treatment will heat quicker and more efficiently, which can help radio frequencies penetrate deeper into the skin to destroy stubborn fat cells for better results.

After your Cellulite treatment, you may experience some slight redness in the treated area, but it usually disappears within about an hour. Some patients notice a mild soreness in the treated area. Mild bruising in the thigh and abdominal area may occur.

After the procedure, do mild to moderate exercise to prevent fats (triglycerides) from being reabsorbed back into the fatty cells. Doing a mild movement such as stretching or walking will suffice.
